Milton Foster Weeden, departed this life for eternity on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, GA.
Milton was born in Mobile, Alabama, on June 8, 1957. He was a 1975 graduate of Toulminville High School, in Mobile, Alabama where he lettered in basketball for the Roundball Rattlers.
Being reared as the son of a Methodist minister, Milton was a lifelong member of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. He served with various ministries including the Sunday School, Ushers, and Choirs at several different churches; most notably Pine Grove C.M.E in Daphne, Al, Taylor’s Chapel C.M.E in Prichard, AL and Stewart Memorial C.M.E. in Mobile, Al.
Milton attended Miles College and later joined the United States Army, where he worked in communications and was stationed twice in Germany. Serving at the United States Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz; Baumholder Military Community and the United States Army Garrison; Wiesbaden Radar Station. After 15 years of honorable service to his country, Milton retired with the rank of Seargent at Ft. Hood Texas on April 15, 1995.
He moved back home to Mobile to assist his mother in caring for his now deceased father. Milton worked at The Admiral Hotel in Mobile, Al., serving in various capacities. He was a dependable and tireless employee, whom co-workers knew they could always count on. Later in life he moved to Atlanta, Georgia.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Dr. Albert Dean (Mae Jane) Weeden Sr., and grand-daughter Alaya Marie Smith.
Cherishing his memories are one son, Jonathon Lamar Lathan (Oakland, CA), one daughter, Carmen Danielle Smith-Weeden (Mobile, AL), one granddaughter, Allie Renea Lathan (Oakland, CA), one brother, Albert Dean (Monique) Weeden, Jr. (Mobile, AL), one nephew, Bryce Kendrick Weeden (Mobile, AL), two nieces, Aleena Christian Weeden Bright (Hoover, AL) and Evie Savannah Weeden (Mobile, AL), one uncle, CMSgt. USAF (ret) Jimmy L. (Lyn) Miller, Sr. (DeBray, FL), two aunts, Ornnie B. Miller (Ft. Washington, MD), and Jacqueline Miller (Atlanta, GA), devoted friend Linda Smith (Fairhope, AL), one God sister, Kimberly Snowden Bolden (Mobile, AL); a host of cousins and friends.
