Obituary for Lorenza BENTLEY

Lorenza "Low Rider" Bentley was born on February 22, 1958, in Barnesville, GA to the late Harrison Lucear and Leila Mae Bentley-Jackson. He was a well-known man throughout his hometown. He attended Lamar County High School, where he became Homecoming King and earned his diploma, graduating Class of 1975. He worked in a few mills throughout Lamar County before moving to Atlanta in 1986. There, he was a city worker for the city of Hapeville, Georgia in the Water and Sanitation department, retiring 18 years later. He then worked jobs with Alif Trucking and other trucking companies until his early retirement in 2020. Lorenza had a hearty and vivacious voice and laugh. He loved to play and watch football, basketball, and baseball. He also found enjoyment playing the lottery, watching TV, and going to all-you-can-eat restaurants. In 2020, Lorenza was diagnosed with cancer but went into remission in 2022. Lorenza transitioned to be with the Lord on May 23, 2025. He joins his late parents, his beloved step-father James E. Jackson Sr, eldest brother Nathaniel “Sot” Bentley, and sister-in-law, Diane Worthy-Bentley.

Lorenza leaves behind his legacy children from former spouse, Del Jackson; Tavares Bentley, and twins, Monique and Martel Bentley (Union City, GA), Brothers: Lucious Bentley (Barnesville, GA), James E. Jackson Jr. (Atlanta, GA), Willie Calloway (Forsyth, GA) and Chancellor Lucear (Macon, GA); Sisters: Leslie Bentley (Barnesville, GA) and Vernell Hansford (Forsyth, GA) Uncles: Fred Harris (Barnesville, GA), Paul Harris (Atlanta, GA), Aunts: Faye Harris (Thomaston, GA), and Shelly Harris-Mason (Barnesville, GA), and a supportive family of a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be dearly missed.
