Obituary for El Hajji Yusuf Wazeerud-Din
On Monday, July 8th 2013, El Hajji Yusuf Wazeerud-Din passed away. He was a man who never met a stranger and was one of the most well known Muslims in Atlanta and throughout the world. He was known worldwide for his welcoming smile and easygoing manner which enabled him to make huge contributions for the Islamic community. As a renowned tour guide, he went throughout the world as the "Ambassador" for Atlanta's Muslim community. One of his noblest accomplishments was leading more than 2,000 Muslims on Hajj for 25 years. He leaves behind many who will miss him and are grateful for his life: his beloved wife of 44 years Edwina, 6 children, Yusuf Jr, (Tonya), Arlandria (Mikal) Rasheed, Dr. Elisha (Quincy) Buddey, Dr. Sulieman (Samaiyyah), Adilah, and Ikhlas, 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 1 brother Darryl (Penny) Thompson, a host of cousins, and a large extended Muslim family in Atlanta and around the world.
